Hosted by Carol Roberts and Friends

Writers & Books, 740 University Ave, Rochester NY
Doors: 6:30 | Open Mic: 7:00
This event recurs on the first Wednesday of every month.

If you’ve got a stand-up comedy bit, a humorous story, a witty poem, or even a short play with clever dialogue, you’re welcome on our mic. Everyone will have up to 5 minutes. Warm support from the audience will help writers and comedians of all experience levels feel welcome.

Whether you’re part of our Community Writing Group, a participant in one of our workshops or classes, or a writer looking for a supportive audience, join us on first Wednesdays at Writers & Books. Anyone is invited to sign up for a 5-minute slot to share a poem, story, essay, monologue, or play. Connect with other local writers of all experience levels and grow your literary community!

Note: Writers & Books will not tolerate material that is explicitly hateful or transgressively sexual. Writers & Books reserves the right to restrict performers who rely on material of this nature from returning to the mic at future events.
