A SummerWrite in the Branches Camp
Families facing economic challenges are especially encouraged to register their young readers and writers in tuition-free camps held at five Rochester branch libraries.
What imaginative stories live in the stuff of everyday life? If your backpack or water bottle went on an adventure, what might it be? If a favorite toy could write a poem, how might it go? Using theatre-based activities and sensory writing, the objects of our daily lives will become portals into the world of memory and imagination. Using Lincoln’s book and toy library as inspiration, we’ll play with language to craft new poems, scenes, stories, and collaborative projects. We’ll workshop our writing for a group anthology, and present our pieces to family and friends on Friday.
