Just Saying: Selected Poems from My 60s and 70s
This is an in-person event held at Writers & Books, 740 University Avenue.
Just Saying is a veteran poet’s reactions to living in today’s world. The poems reflect, respond, philosophize, and admonish. These are poems about the natural world, politics Shakespeare, temporality, mortality, the pandemic, the universe, and our place in it. Sometimes provocative and maybe even proverbial, the poems are by turns Thoughtful, playful, ironic, angry, tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic, and wry. Stelzig is a poet who wonders and whose mind wanders and who does not mince his words—a seasoned poet who speaks from both the head and the heart about everything and about nothing.
