POW, SCRIBBLE, ZAP: Graphic Novels from Start to Finish | Ages: 9-12

POW, SCRIBBLE, ZAP: Graphic Novels from Start to Finish | Ages: 9-12

Words and pictures work together to tell stories in celebrated graphic novels, comics, and manga like American Born Chinese, Black Panther, Demon Slayer, Razzle Dazzle Unicorn, Cat Kid Comic Club, and The Last Kids on Earth. We’ll immerse ourselves in graphic novels that tell stories and focus on themes we care about. Mornings will be spent working with author Tracy Cretelle, and afternoons with illustrator Zazie Weldgen.

Campers will learn the basics of making a comic such as paneling, story boarding, inking, lettering, and character design. Using drawing and writing prompts, campers will either make a mini comic or a floppy  (8-30 page comic) which will be shared at a casual reception with friends and family at the end of the week!
