Angelique Stevens

Angelique Stevens is a Professor of English at Monroe Community College where she teaches creative writing, literature of genocide, and race literatures. She has received fellowships from MacDowell, Hedgebrook, Art Omi, Bread Loaf, Tin House, Kenyon Review, Sewanee Writers, and the Periplus Mentorship Collective. Her nonfiction can be found in The Best American Essays two years in a row, 2022 and 2023. She has also been published in Granta, LitHub, and The New England Review, among others. She is working on a collection of essays about poverty and the myth of the American Dream forthcoming from Simon & Schuster.
